A seasoned radio host, Malavika Varadan embarked on her Dubai journey in 2008 as the face of the primetime breakfast show on City 1016. Over her impressive 12-year tenure in radio, she engaged with millions of listeners, graced concert stages, and collaborated with both local and international brands.

Her passion for public speaking and idea-sharing culminated in a widely acclaimed TEDx talk titled “7 Ways to Make Conversation with Anyone.” With over 20 million views, this talk has resonated profoundly with audiences worldwide. In 2019, Malavika received the prestigious ‘Khaleej Times Woman of Substance’ award. She now contributes to WKND magazine, delving into cultural insights and capturing the city’s pulse.

In 2019, Malavika transitioned from radio to become a full-time drama educator and entrepreneur. She founded and manages “The Hive,” a performing arts venue in Bur Dubai, UAE. At The Hive, children aged 4 to 18 learn essential skills in performing arts and public speaking, conquering stage fright and discovering their voices.

Beyond the stage, Malavika wears multiple hats. As an Instagram influencer, she reaches 32,000 followers through her iGTV videos, focusing on motivation, learning, and leadership. She also serves as a fitness ambassador for the Dubai Fitness Challenge, advocates for DEWA’s sustainability efforts, and supports the UNHCR.
