Revolutionizing Soccer Scouting: aiScout App Takes Center Stage

aiScout, a groundbreaking app developed by London-based technology company ai.io, is transforming the landscape of soccer scouting. The app, which is free to download and available globally, allows aspiring soccer stars to enter virtual trials for professional clubs by uploading self-recorded footage of themselves completing a series of drills.

The app offers 75 exercises designed to test a range of skills, with videos showing users how to complete them. Performances are automatically scored by artificial intelligence (AI) technology, and the data can then be accessed by clubs. This allows scouts to peruse scores for viable talent, honing their search with a variety of filters, from age and gender to position on the pitch.

Two English Premier League (EPL) partners, Chelsea and Burnley, are already using the app. Clubs can tailor their in-app trials to meet specific needs and set their own benchmarks by having their academy players complete the same drills.

The app has already proven successful. Ben Greenwood, a 17-year-old who had never had a trial with a professional club until he downloaded the app in 2019, landed a trial with Chelsea. He signed a contract with EPL team Bournemouth in 2021.

The app’s success is not limited to the UK. A multi-year partnership with Major League Soccer in the US was announced last May. With over 100 clubs lined up to join Chelsea and Burnley, user numbers are projected to surge into the millions as the operation ramps up this year.

The aiScout app is a testament to the power of AI in democratizing talent identification and scouting in soccer. By leveraging advanced AI technology, the app is putting elite-level analysis into the hands of amateur athletes, revolutionizing football scouting all over the world.
